I’ve just pulled together some of my Isle of Man Photographs from Flickr and created the little slideshow below.
Just found a handy way of embedding photos from Flickr into a website. On the Glendown Farm site I’m adding a photographs page, and rather than hosting the images on the Glendown Farm server I’ve added them to Flickr. By sticking in an iframe and pointing to a slideshow created in Flickr all the photos show with in the Glendown Farm site without having to redirect to the Flickr site.
What I hope to do is create different slideshows for inside the self catering accommodation, outside The Stable and general farm and Isle of Man photographs. The only downside is there is a black background to the slideshows which at present doesn’t seem to be customisable but there are a number of comments in the Flickr forums about this so something may change.
Took a trip down to Port St Mary to go and run through a proposal we’re working on with Tim at Island Seafare. After the week that’s just been I couldn’t believe how nice it was so took a whole load of photos in and around the boats in the harbour.
I’ve been working on the Rowany Cottier Guest House website which has now gone live. John and Heather had loads of photographs of the Guest House and Port Erin area. I’ve known John for years and have seen a few of his slides of the Island before but it was really great to see some of the fantastic sunset shots from over Port Erin Bay and the shots down the coast towards the Calf of Man.Donna and I lived opposite Rowany Cottier for around 9 months before we went travelling and it really is a fantastic spot. The walks out around Bradda are a great way to chill out after a day in the office and give superb views over Port Erin Bay and in the summer months provide a great vantage point for watching the feeding Basking Sharks. Although all of John’s photographs of Port Erin and South of the Isle of Man haven’t made it to the website I’m sure we’ll be looking to add a gallery or set up a Flickr gallery for the remainder soon.
Found a great little plugin for WordPress called NextGen. I’ve added a few photos in a number of different galleries. Isle of Man, Thailand, Paris, Birds, Random Pics and Wales. I’ll hopefully add a few more galleries. If I can work out Albums I’ll sort them all out a little better.
