We’ve been staying in a dog-friendly self-catering holiday cottage between Ambleside and Hawkshead. Knipefold Barn is an upside down barn conversion with some amazing views.
The Outgate Inn is about a 20 minute stroll away and does some great food. It’s also a dog friendly pub which is such a nice change from home. Every where in the Lakes is so friendly and geared up for tourists; from the maintenance of walking and cycle paths through to the dog friendly accommodation, shops and pubs.
There are some really great walks right from the doorstep of the Barn too. We’ve walked the Tarn How route twice which as just under 5 miles and was mentioned in Rough Guide as one of the prettiest places in the Lakes.
