Many of the Manx Farms are currently in or just through their lambing season so I took the opportunity and went back down to Glendown Farm to get a few photographs of the lambs in the fields, which I’ve added to my Flickr. The main photo shows two lambs that had literally only just been born. The youngest was just taking his very first steps and trying to find his way to food!
This was always one of my favourite times on the farm and it is so nice to see the young lambs playing in the fields.
There are always a few meg lambs that end up down at the farm to be hand reared. This gives people staying on a farm in the Isle of Man a great opportunity to see lambs up close and maybe even get a chance to hold or feed a lamb.
There are a number of farms on the Isle of Man that offer self-catering accommodation and give tourists coming to the Island the chance to stay on a Manx Farm. Many are located in areas of outstanding natural beauty and are of course surrounded by fields and wildlife.
